“Success is uncommon, therefore not to be enjoyed by the common man. I’m looking for uncommon people.”
That’s precisely who this book is for – Anyone aspiring to be an uncommon success. Written by Tony Dungy, the first African American coach to win the Super Bowl, this book conveys many timeless lessons that will definitely a person’s way of thinking.
I liked this book because of the way Dungy is able to get his message across. As a coach he knows what it takes to build men worthy of being role models – Men of courage, integrity, character, confidence, humility who reach for the stars while still being firmly grounded. His message about how to attain real significance in life is one that many people really need to hear.
He knows what he’s talking about because because he’s been there. If you are tired of self-help books, don’t worry – this book doesn’t strike that note. Dungy doesn’t claim to have all the answers. He just instructs men on how to be better fathers, husbands and human beings by sharing what he’s been through.
It’s a quick, easy read, and there’s enough football mixed in to keep any guy interested. It makes an excellent gift for young men or any man with it’s message of what real significance means and how it can be uncommonly rewarding… He really hits the mark. Gift a copy of the Uncommon: Finding Your Path to Significance away but get one for yourself too – This is one of the best books of 2009. You don’t want to miss it.
